How to Choose a Bat You Won't Regret

Match the willow grade to your level. Grade 1 English Willow is for advanced players who need maximum performance. Grades 3–5 are ideal for club and recreational players at better value.

Pick the right weight for your build. For most adults, 2 lb 8 oz to 2 lb 10 oz is the sweet spot — light enough for quick reaction, heavy enough for power.

Check the blade thickness and edges. Modern bats favour thick edges (38–44mm) and full profiles. Thicker edges mean a larger sweet spot — crucial when facing off-pace or spin.
